Portenzo iPad Case

Portenzo Case_10
I received my iPad case from Portenzo.com last week after about a 4 week wait. I was so happy to see it and it was love at first sight when I opened the FedEx box. The case was exquisitely hand crafted using bookbinder’s technology and Baltic Birch plywood. It is a thing of beauty and I love the instant on feature with the smart cover option. The case is more comfortable to hold for reading than the bare iPad even though the whole package is a bit heavier. The corner of the bare iPad cut into my hand unless I held it just so, the case does not. There are several cover materials to choose from and even more colors for the inside liner. The sound is channeled outward toward you by a chamber and holes in the wood frame which makes it louder than shooting the sound out the back. Even better this case is made right here in St. Louis, I love supporting local business when possible. I give this case a full 5 stars. ★★★★★

Apple and Location info

A lot has been made over the last few days about Apple “collecting” location information. My own take on this is that it is no big deal. The iPhone is aware of where in the world it is so it can give you location aware information for such apps as Maps, Foursquare , etc. The fact that it keeps a general list of cell towers and wi-fi networks it has been near is not surprising and I love the fact the phone knows where it is. Apparently Apple is going to shorten the time this info is kept and not transfer the file to your desktop computer when you sync. There is also talk of encrypting the file. These changes will probably be put in place with the next iOS upgrade and I have no problem with any of it. Kudos to Apple also for taking their time to study the issue before releasing a press statement. That way when they do say something it is studied and accurate and not subject to correction because it was responded to too quickly.
